ESPO has support from regional officials, industrialists, businessmen, and other economy participants. Obviously, oil pipeline and its satellite gas pipeline will bring prosperity for the biggest region in Siberia and the Far East. ESPO will force republic’s fields and deposits to be developed, exported and hopefully to increase republic’s budget incomes at long last.
AGAINST
However, ecologists and green peace followers are afraid of the Lena river pollution when ESPO pipeline will be laid across the river at its bottom.
ORDINARY PEOPLE
They understand ESPO’s advantages, but they do love the Lena river and want it to remain clean and untouched. When environmentalists are calling upon to support protest actions, they eagerly sign petitions.
