Located in downtown, close to Lenin Square. Surrounded by business office buildings, boutiques. In front of the Russian Drama Theatre. It is 20 minutes to drive to the airport.
About a controversial hotel name
The phrase Polyarnaya Zvezda means Pole Star in Russian. However, hotel administration initially did incorrect translation, gave the name Polar Star, and that appeared over the main entrance. The hotel is also called informally as ALROSA Hotel in Yakutsk. As you might know, ALROSA is the biggest diamond mining company in Yakutia and Russia.
Polyarnaya Zvezda Hotel is popular public place, it is considered by city residents as a business center as well as a place of rest and leisure.

MY NOTES:
1. Right, this hotel is very expensive place to stay. However, if you’re tired of wild Siberian roads and terrains you passed over on the way to Yakutsk, that will be a good idea to spend a few nights in Polyarnaya Zvezda and have rest in conditions you accustomed to.
2. Receptionists speak English.
3. Restaurants offer continental courses as well as Italian pizzas. There is a fast food cafe as well. No traditional meals, unfortunately. Poor cocktails card. Menus may have the description of dishes in English, but not guaranteed.
4. Rooms are clean.
5. Regarding coffee, may say that espresso, cappuccino, Americana are served only.
TYGYN DARKHAN HOTEL
Status: 3 stars.
Address: 9 Ammosov Street.
Built in 1987, reconstructed in 1995.
Located in downtown, close to Lenin Square, the Staryj Gorod (Old Town) complex, surrounded by numerous shops and stores. 20 minutes to drive to the airport.

MY NOTES:
1. The Tygyn Darkhan restaurant is the only public place where city visitors may try Sakha national dishes. Besides, menus have dish description in English. The Tygyn Darkhan restaurant is famous thanks to his head-cook Tarbakhov. Be alert, the restaurant’s constant clients are mainly high republic officials and prominent businessmen.
2. Receptionists don’t speak English, but may use key words and phrases. 3. Rooms are clean. 4. Tygyn Darkhan was a historical figure as well as a Sakha epic hero.
