Received two almost similar requests from German and Indian travelers. The first one asked about the best way of getting to Yakutsk from Seoul (South Korea). Another was curious about the flying route from Almaty (Kazakhstan).
The same issue I had already had with another international guests who eventually arrived to Yakutsk through Novosibirsk. And you know what? I would say that Novosibirsk is currently the best hub (intermediate center) when you plan your trip to so far away region as Yakutia. Yeah, that’s true. Locals even prefer to fly to Moscow via this Siberian city, though there are direct flights.
The reason is simple. Flying through Novosibirsk (Tolmachevo Airport) is the best, because it is much, much cheaper. Just compare prices. One-way direct flight from Moscow to Yakutsk by Yakutia Airlines (www.yakutia.aero) can costs about 16000-19500 rubles (economic class). Siberia Airlines (www.s7.ru) will offer you the same trip, but via Novosibirsk for 9000-12000 rubles. The difference is essential. You may save almost 7000 rubles (~220 USD/155 EUR).
Novosibirsk is also the best option for those, who are coming from abroad. There are direct international flights to Tolmachevo Airport from Almaty (one way standard economic class ticket for 9030 rubles), Seoul (12150 rubles), Beijing (12700 rubles), also from Vena, London, New York, Miami, etc… Finally, the flight from Novosibirsk to Yakutsk will cost from 6000 rubles. Btw, rates are given without taxes and fees.
All these goodies became possible once again thanks to Siberia Airlines. Recommend strongly to check out Siberia Airlines’ website (www.s7.ru). It provides reliable, comfortable online ticket sale. Besides, it can sell S7 tickets as well as another airlines’ itineraries. English version is available.
Oh, man, after such a review Siberia Airlines just must share its revenues with me, hehe. Whatever!
