Another request arrived from the USA was very specific. About the ways of travelling from Yakutsk to Tiksi in September 2009.
There are two options:
- By the regular passenger ship “Mechanic Koulibin”. That’s the longest way.
The ship will depart on Sept. 7 only. The voyage lasts 4-5 days. One way trip costs One way trip costs 9990 rubles per person. More info one the following page http://askyakutia.com/2009/05/yakutsk-tiksi-ship-mechanic-koulibin/ .
- By plane. There are flights on every work days, from Monday through Friday. The rate varies between 8300 RUB (~180 EUR) and 14000 RUB (~310 EUR). It depends on the day of departure. It is possible to check the price at http://ticketshop.yakutia.ru/en/?switch_site=1 .
The river cruise ships “Michael Svetlov” and “Demyan Bednyj” won’t go to Tiksi in September.
Btw, don’t forget about getting entry permission for Tiksi beforehand, as Tiksi is in the frontier zone. I wrote about it here http://askyakutia.com/2009/04/how-to-get-entry-permit-for-frontier-zone/
