Received questions from Montenegro’s Round-The-World Motorcycle Expedition (www.theridearound2010.com), that plans to go through Yakutia (Sakha), Magadan Oblast and Chukotka to Alaska. Here is what they wrote:
“Three of us will be traveling around the world on our motorcycles. Somewhere around July 10th we will be in Chita and from there we want to travel to Magadan. [...]

There are three options. You can reach Lensk from Yakutsk:
1) by plane,
2) by taxi,
3) hitchhiking (mostly with truck drivers).

Received two almost similar requests from German and Indian travelers. The first one asked about the best way of getting to Yakutsk from Seoul (South Korea). Another was curious about the flying route from Almaty (Kazakhstan).
The same issue I had already had with another international guests who eventually arrived to Yakutsk through Novosibirsk. And you [...]

Checked my mail archive and found out the answer to the question received from a globetrotter. He asked about the availability of flight from Magadan to Anadyr.
That inquiry regarded to Magadan Oblast! Not about Yakutia. But… I wasn’t surprised at all. I am writing much about the way to Magadan, so people thought, maybe, [...]

Well, the question asked by a Dutch seems easy to answer. But… when we talk about roads to remote settlements in Yakutia, everything appears to be so complicated. The same issue we get with this question.
Sebyan-Kyuel is a small village located by the Silyan River in Kobyasky Ulus, North Yakutia. Check the map. Known much [...]

That’s really great news. Yakutia Airlines made breakthrough, irrespective of the world crisis. At present, travelers may reach Magadan and then Petropavlosk Kamchatsk from Yakutsk by Flight 409. The airplane departs weekly on Saturday. One-way ticket costs around 20000 rubles (~450 EUR).

Praise God, Yakutia Airlines launched the flight tickets online reservation service. Here is the link: http://ticketshop.yakutia.ru/en/ So, now any international traveller can arrange round trips to and within the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The flight reservation website is standard and simple. It contains four departments, “Book a flight”, “Flight Schedule”, “Payment”, and “Contact”.
